Description

V-ball valve 2-(2)

The V‑Ball Valve 2‑(2) features a precision-engineered V-port cut into the ball for smooth, equal-percentage flow control combined with bubble-tight shut-off. As a V‑port ball valve for flow control, it offers accurate modulation and repeatable performance across more than 95% of its travel. The V-notch’s self-cleaning action helps prevent clogging even when handling abrasive or fibrous fluids, making this low-pressure drop V‑ball valve an excellent choice for demanding process systems.

Constructed from high-grade carbon steel or stainless steel, the valve supports ANSI flange, socket-weld, butt-weld, or threaded end connections, and operates at Class 150–300. High-precision V ball valve options include metal-seated trims capable of high-temperature service (up to 538 °C) or reinforced PTFE seats for chemical compatibility. Its floating ball design ensures tight, bi-directional sealing; as pressure rises, the ball is pressed into the seat, maintaining a reliable seal under varying load.

The internal V-notch promotes constant flow control and pressure drop with minimal turbulence or cavitation risk. Rangeability is high, and small size models (Cv ~0.07 and above) offer precise flow management in compact piping systems. Designed for ease of automation, the valve includes an ISO 5211 pad for direct actuator mounting—whether pneumatic, electric, or worm-gear.

Many models use split or one-piece body designs for straightforward maintenance and inspection, enabling seat replacement without removing the valve from the line. Maintenance costs remain low due to the rugged floating-ball architecture and efficient mechanical design.

Ideal for industrial V‑notch ball valve applications, this valve is frequently used in steam tracer circuits, liquid flow metering, slurry transport lines, chemical metering systems, and control loops requiring both precise throttling and reliable isolation. Compared to globe or control valves, the V‑Ball Valve 2‑(2) provides combined control and isolation in a single compact unit, reducing system complexity and installation costs.

Engineers favor this valve for its reliable modulation, high flow capacity, and long service life in abrasive or viscous media. Its design reduces actuator sizing, enhances flow control accuracy, and simplifies downstream operations. With high rangeability and consistent shut-off even under load, the V‑Ball Valve 2‑(2) is a versatile component for critical industrial process control applications.
