Pipe Tees

Pipe Tees are essential fittings used to connect three sections of piping and to change the direction of fluid flow in process systems. Shaped like a “T” or “Y”, these fittings are available as Equal Tees—where all three outlets have the same diameter—and Reducing Tees, where one branch has a smaller diameter. With a size range from 1/2” to 72” and compatibility with a wide variety of pipe wall thicknesses (e.g., SCH 5S to SCH XXS), tees are indispensable in plumbing, chemical, oil & gas, and power generation industries.

Design and Functionality:

Tees are designed with one inlet and two outlets, or two inlets and one outlet, making them suitable for both branching and mixing fluid streams. The primary function is to allow fluid flow redirection, often at a 90-degree angle, while maintaining balanced pressure and flow dynamics across the connected pipelines. Their shape and structure ensure strong mechanical performance and tight sealing, which are critical in high-pressure or corrosive environments.

Material Options:

Tees are available in a broad range of materials to meet specific chemical and mechanical requirements. This includes:

  • Carbon Steel: ASTM A234 WPB/WPC, A105, A53, API 5L, etc.

  • Stainless Steel: 304/304L, 316/316L, 321, 317L, 310S, 316Ti

  • Alloy Steel: A335-P1 to P92, A213 T11, T22, etc.

  • Duplex Stainless Steel: S31803 (2205), S32750 (2507), S31500

Each material grade ensures performance under different temperature, pressure, and corrosive conditions.

Standards and Quality Compliance:

All tees conform to leading international standards such as ANSI B16.9, ANSI B16.28, MSS SP-43 & SP-75, ASTM A403/A815/A366, DIN 2605–2617, ensuring uniformity, weldability, and compatibility in global piping systems. These standards govern the dimensional accuracy, strength, and wall thickness of each fitting, allowing for easy integration into new or existing systems.

Surface Finishing & Applications:

Available surface treatments include black paint, bright paint, rust-proof oil, and hot-dip galvanization, offering corrosion protection and extended service life. Tees are widely used in chemical pipelines, oil & gas processing, water supply systems, food & beverage plants, and HVAC systems. Whether for fluid distribution, system branching, or blending, tees provide a robust, cost-effective, and technically sound solution for fluid handling.
