Worm and Spur Mechanical Gearbox
Robust subsea worm-and-spur mechanical gearbox designed for reliable quarter-turn valve actuation in deep-water and offshore environments. Compact, pressure-balanced, and corrosion-resistant.
The Worm and Spur Mechanical Gearbox is a heavy-duty subsea actuation unit specifically engineered for quarter-turn valve operation in harsh offshore and deep-water environments. It utilizes either a worm or spur gear mechanism to provide precise, controlled movement for subsea ball valves, pig diverters, and similar applications. Its compact and modular design minimizes space requirements while maintaining high structural integrity and mechanical strength.
The gearbox is supplied fully integrated with its corresponding valve, reducing installation complexity and ensuring seamless performance. Its internal design is simple yet extremely robust, enhancing reliability, durability, and long service life even under extreme subsea pressure conditions.
Equipped with a pressure-balanced compensation system, redundant dynamic sealing, and an elastomeric environmental seal, the gearbox is fully protected against seawater ingress and pressure differentials. A mechanical position indicator allows for visual confirmation of valve status during operations. The unit is built to meet stringent subsea industry standards and is validated with high technology readiness for real-world offshore applications.
