Fisher™ 655 and 655R Diaphragm Actuators
Fisher 655 and 655R actuators provide control for a wide variety of pressure regulation applications. The 655 actuator is used for pressure reduction service on push-down-to-close valves, and the 655R actuator is primarily for pressure relief use on push-down-to-open valves. These actuators may be either self-operated or remote-loaded.
The Fisher™ 655 and 655R Diaphragm Actuators are rugged, spring-opposed pneumatic actuators engineered to provide precise and reliable control of sliding-stem control valves. Manufactured by Emerson, these actuators are designed to handle demanding process control applications across industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, power generation, and pulp and paper. The Fisher 655 actuator converts pneumatic pressure into linear motion to position the valve plug accurately in response to control signals, ensuring smooth, stable, and repeatable operation. The 655R variant is a reverse-acting model, offering fail-open or fail-close functionality depending on spring configuration—making it suitable for both direct and reverse action valve requirements. Built with a rolling diaphragm and heavy-duty spring mechanism, these actuators deliver high thrust output, sensitive positioning, and long service life. Their compact, lightweight design allows for easy installation and maintenance while maintaining the durability and strength required for industrial environments. The 655 and 655R actuators are designed for seamless integration with Fisher globe and angle valves, and can be equipped with Fisher digital valve controllers (DVC series), positioners, or handwheels for advanced control performance and field adjustability.
